Fort Bayard, NM
SCOPE OF WORK: Fort Bayard National Cemetery, located in southwestern New Mexico on the edge of the Gila National Forest, required replacement of the rostrum concrete of the committal shelter. Following demolition of the existing concrete, the PCG team installed the subgrade, and placed 4” thick, 4000 PSI, colored concrete pavement, reinforced with #3 rebar at 24” intervals. The installation also included expansion joints and formed control joints, and a medium-broom finish with formed smooth-finished edges. Once cured, all forms were removed, and benches, handrails and plaques were reinstalled.
Established in 1866, the cemetery was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, as a part of the Fort Bayard Historic District.
